Welcome to Craigievern Cottage
Craigievern Cottage is next door to a busy 765 acre beef and sheep farm, which also keeps pigs and sells chickens and ducks.
There really is a lot going on!
We would be happy to show our cottage guests some of our animals at an arranged time, although since you drive up through our farm to get the cottage you will get to see the livestock. Keep a look out and you might also catch a glimpse of some Red Deer, Roe Deer, Hare and there are plenty of Pheasants around too.
There is always something happening on the farm; if we are not lambing, then we are calving or shearing sheep, or maybe it’s silage time or there are chickens hatching or pigs farrowing.
Never a dull moment!
We do ask that dogs are kept on a lead and under control at all times out-with the cottage.
To let our cottage guests experience farming life we have set up a coop with laying hens in the garden. Whilst you are staying at Craigievern Cottage you can collect the eggs daily for your own use, chicken feed will also be supplied for you look after the birds. You can’t beat the taste of a fresh egg!
We appreciate that not everyone loves chickens just as much as us, so if you would prefer we looked after them during your stay please let us know. You can still eat the eggs! Craigievern Cottage is situated on the edge of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, with stunning views of the Campsie Hills. The cottage is owned by Craig and Jane Harrower, they run the adjacent family farm, where Craig has lived all his life. Their daughters Kelly, Helen and Shona also help on the farm when can.
